Our radon detector is an efficient, portable device capable of monitoring radon concentrations in real time. Radon is a colorless, odorless, radioactive gas that can cause lung cancer and respiratory problems when exposed to high concentrations over a long period of time. Therefore, it is critical to use this instrument for radon monitoring in environments such as homes, building construction, schools, and public spaces. The device is easy to operate, just turn it on, place it in the detection area, and obtain radon concentration data in real time. Radon can enter buildings through crevices in floors, walls, and pipes, and detecting and controlling radon levels is important to ensure a safe living environment. With their ease of use and efficiency, our radon detectors are ideal for keeping your home and work environment safe.

What exactly is radon?

Radon is the only natural radioactive inert gas produced by radium decay in nature. It has no color and no odor. The decay products of radon atoms in the air are called radon progeny, which are metal ions. At room temperature, radon progeny can form radioactive aerosols in the air and pollute the air. It is easily intercepted by the respiratory system and accumulates continuously in local areas. Long term inhalation of high concentrations of radon can ultimately induce lung cancer.

The hazards of radon:

According to the average indoor radon levels and smoking rates in various regions around the world, lung cancer cases caused by radon account for approximately 3% -14% of all lung cancer cases in each region. Due to the synergistic effect of radon and smoking, smokers have a higher risk of developing lung cancer.
According to data released by the World Health Organization (WHO), over 100000 people worldwide die each year from indoor radon pollution. Due to the widespread presence of radon in human living spaces, the impact of indoor radon levels on human health is crucial.
If exposed to radon frequently, it may manifest as fatigue, hair loss, gum bleeding, and decreased white blood cells, which may lead to infertility, fetal abnormalities, genetic mutations, genetic diseases, and other consequences.

Radon gas standard range (in US units):

The indoor radon safety standard set by Health Canada is 5.4 pci/L. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends a radon gas standard of 2.7 pci/L, which is twice as low as Canada's standard. According to the Chinese standard GB/T16146-1995, the construction of new housing is 2.7 pci/L; 5.4 pci/L of housing has been built.
